Travel Information

New Orleans is served by Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).  It is approximately 30 minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District, where the conference hotel is located.  Shuttle vans, taxis, Uber, and rental cars are all available for arriving passengers.

International Visitors

  • Passports:  Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date unless you are exempted by country-specific agreement.

  • Visas:  If you need a letter of invitation to secure a visa, please complete the visa information form.  The conference organizing committee will provide you with a letter confirming that you are a registered participant in the conference.  You must register and pay before the letter can be sent.  Please note that the letter of invitation is the only visa-related assistance that can be provided.  Project Visa has detailed information about U.S. visa requirements.

Considering renting a car?

Unless you are planning an extended visit in New Orleans beyond the conference dates, you may not need to rent a car.  This is a walkable city, and most popular visitor attractions are close to the conference hotel.  Many more are accessible via streetcar.  For those with mobility issues, a rental car, taxi, or Uber may be warranted.
